Chiltern Heritage Trail

The Chiltern Heritage Trail will be closed between Great Missenden and Potter Row, due to HS2 construction works. Below is a suggested (signed) diversion via GMI/2 & GMI/3, starting soon after leaving The Lee, or when leaving Gt Missenden

Via GMI/2

This (almost) avoids roads, but cuts off a corner of the trail. From Gt Missenden -

• Take GMI/1(F) NorthWest just after the Link Road car park
• After passing some stabling, turn right into a pedestrian underpass (under the A413)
• Take GMI/2 up to Potter Row (GMI/12 is also closed)
• follow GMI/3 to rejoin the Heritage Trail (TLE/42) just before Croft Dell

Alternative, via Frith Hill & GMI/16

More road, & more of the Trail. From Gt Missenden -

• Cross the A413 (not recommended) & take GMI/31/3 towards Frith Hill, OR better,
  • take GMI/1 or the High Street to Church St,
  • then GMI/32 to Frith Hill. This passes under both the A413 & B485
• Ascend Frith Hill, then turn left on GMI/16 just after 'Weights & Measures' (one time pub, now owned by HS2)
• Continue on GMI/16 to resume the Trail where it meets GMI/13, OR
  turn left on to Potter Row, then right onto GMI/13 to rejoin the Trail
